How to copy a chart on TradingView?

Updated on October 17, 2023

TradingView has a feature called “Make It Mine” that allows users to copy another person’s public chart as a starting point for their own analysis. It’s a useful tool for beginners to learn from experienced traders and to compare their analysis with others in the community. However, it is still essential to ensure that you use this feature responsibly and respectfully, giving proper credit to the original creator of the chart if you choose to share or publish it further.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use the “Make It Mine” feature on TradingView:

Sign in to the TradingView website.

Hover over the Community Tab in the top menu, and then hover over the Trade Ideas option. Choose a Trade Idea option that interests you.

Alternatively, you can search for an instrument and then click “See Overview” when you hover over it. This will bring you to a page with the latest charts that other members have published.

Whether you choose to follow Step 2 or Step 3, you will land on a page which contains charts that accompany the shared ideas of other TradingView members. When you find a chart that you would like to copy, click on the Share icon.

A Share window will now appear, and it is here you click “Make it Mine” .

If you make significant changes or add unique insights to the copied chart, you can choose to publish it to the TradingView community but remember to give credit to the original creator if they have shared their work publicly.
