By changing the timeframe on MT5, traders can gain valuable insights into price movements, identify trends, and make informed trading decisions. In this article, we will explore the simple steps to change timeframes on MT5, allowing traders to optimize their trading strategies and enhance their overall trading experience.
You first need to launch the platform and open a chart of the financial instrument you wish to analyze. You can do this by selecting the desired asset from the “Market Watch” window and then right-clicking on it. From the context menu, choose “Chart Window” to open a new chart for the selected instrument.
Once you have the chart open, you will find the timeframe options located at the top of the chart window. By default, MT5 displays the timeframe in minutes, ranging from 1 minute (M1) to 1 month (MN1). The available timeframe options include M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, and MN1.
Select the desired timeframe from the list by clicking on it. Instantly, the chart will refresh and display the price data based on your chosen timeframe.
Apart from the standard timeframe options, MT5 also has some hidden timeframes. These timeframes can be found in the top menu under “Charts -> Timeframes”. Here you can find more minute and hour timeframes.
