MetaTrader 4 (MT4) connects to the most suitable server automatically when you log in. If needed, you can manually select a different server and compare connection speeds before switching.
Follow these steps to update your server.
Step 1
Select the connection status icon in the bottom right corner of the platform.
Step 2
A list of available servers will appear. Choose the one you want to connect to.
Each server displays a latency value in milliseconds (ms). This indicates how quickly your platform communicates with the broker’s server. Lower latency generally means a faster, more stable connection.
Step 3
After selecting a server, the platform will reconnect and begin updating data. You can reopen the connection status to confirm the active server.
