Trumps unhinged letter to the prime minister of Norway might be the first leg of Silver hitting the coveted $100 an ounce.
Trump has said he no longer feels obliged to focus only on peace after not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize (which is awarded by a Norwegian committee, not the Norwegian government). He also would not rule out using military force to take Greenland if it cannot be purchased (Greenland is not Norwegian territory).
Trump also said tariffs on eight EU nations would be 10% from Feb. 1, rising to 25% from June 1 if no deal is reached.
Silver is currently holding comfortably at $94.3, although many are now watching for the TACO («Trump Always Chickens Out») trade, which could send silver lower.
