LMAX Group Acquires Stake in BlackBull Markets

BlackBull Markets is pleased announced that LMAX Group, a leading institutional exchange for forex and cryptocurrency trading, has acquired a minority stake in the company.

The investment is part of a strategic partnership aimed at expanding BlackBull Markets’ offerings to include enhanced pricing, faster execution, and increased market depth across its range of over 26,000 tradable instruments. LMAX Group, which operates exchange infrastructure in London, New York, Tokyo, and Singapore, brings significant expertise to the partnership.

The collaboration will also drastically expand and improve BlackBull Markets’ cryptocurrency offering and trading conditions, leveraging LMAX Digital, the institutional cryptocurrency exchange operated by LMAX Group.

Last year, Simon Botherway, former chair of New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority (FMA) establishment board, became the chairman of BlackBull Markets’ board of directors after acquiring a stake in the company alongside Milford Asset Management’s Private Equity Fund, a leading New Zealand private equity fund.
